Off and Running at Tribeca

Nicole Opper's second documentary feature will be premiering in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival in April. The film was also chosen to be followed by NBC for a special that will air on network television.  The NBC crew stopped by SoundSpace to document the film in its final stages of post production.  

Peter and Vandy Premieres at Sundance

The film, directed by Jay DiPietro and staring Jason Ritter, Jess Weixler, Jesse L. Martin, Tracie Thoms, and Noah Bean, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and was also nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. Since then, the film as had had a great festival run, screening at GenArt film festival in New York, the AFI Dallas Film Festival and others. The film was sound designed at SoundSpace and mixed at DIGit Audio.

Nowhere Kids Lands Tribeca Premiere

Following the success of their feature documentary, Off the Grid, the team at Still Point Pictures created this short narrative based on some of the stories and characters they followed.  Intended to show a taste of the feature-length version to follow, the short was selected to screen in competition at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

Sordid Things heads to Boston

After a successful sound design and mix at SoundSpace, Sordid Things heads up to the Boston International Film Festival for its world premiere.  The film stars  Alex Burns, Alex Kingston, James McCaffrey, Nicole Vicius (II), Piper Perabo and is directed by first-time director, Andrew Bloomenthal. Matthew Leads IFP DocLab Post Audio Workshop

Two SoundSpace Films Premiere in New York

Alphabet Killer and Were the World Mine both premiered at the same time and at the same theater in New York City last month. The Cinema Village theater in Union Square screened these films with at least enough overlap to grab this photo of Matthew Polis, SoundSpace founder.  Both of films were sound designed by Matthew Polis at SoundSpace in Chelsea and mixed at Digital Cinema by James Redding.

Relentless7 -Keeping it Together
Continuing to work with Three on the Tree and director/photographer, Danny Clinch, SoundSpace mixed the recent concert documentary featuring Ben Harper and his new band, Relentless7. The documentary will appear with the special edition release of the CD when it ships this May.
Arusi Debuts on Independent Lens

Marjan Tehrani's  personal and poignient feature documentary, Arusi, premiers on PBS's Independent Lens series in March of 2009.    "Independent Lens is public television's equivalent of This American Life, a completely freeform program with no apparent rules for what passes" -Paste Magazine Read more about the film here

Anyone and Everyone continues to inspire audiences

Susan Polis Schutz's first documentary feature, mixed at SoundSpace, was welcomed nationally by huge audiences everywhere.  In addition to screening on over 100 PBS affiliate stations nation-wide and screening at well over 10 festivals around the world, Susan, the film, and a panel toured US cities and were always met with tears and standing ovations.   More on the film here.
